Mauser Model Gewehr 71 bolt action rifle. Made "1875" as marked on the right side of the chamber. This is a Steyr production rifle. Imperial proofs on the barrel and chamber. No Import mark found. Matching serials on all visible numbered parts. Stock has cartouches on the bottom of the butt stock. Barley corn front sight with traditional flip up rear sight. Most metal components look to be in the white. Traditional brass trigger guard. Stock has a light oil finish. CONDITION: Metal components have some light brown patina in areas with no signs of cleaning or polish. Trigger guard has not been polished either. There is some light surface rust on the bolt. Stock has dings, scratches and dents. Bore is lightly frosted with a few pits. Rifling is strong. Mechanically fine. JWA
