Prewar (1936 dated) Luftwaffe "Tuchrock" (service tunic) to an "Obergefreiter" assigned to the "Nachrichten-Schule" (Signal School). Tunic is made from a very high quality prewar blue-gray wool, with only extremely light moth damage which is difficult to notice, and in excellent condition. The tunic was issued and exhibits only very light wear. Tunic is marked on the inside left front with a large maker ink stamp, size markings, "LBA36", "6 36" under the size markings, "L.d.L.N.S" (Nachrichten-Schule), a lined out "1.A.Komp.", and a "6.A. Komp.". Tunic is fully lined in a gray cotton. The collar has tailor hand-applied light brown piping, and machine-sewn light brown Signal collar tabs. Three gulls are era-applied through the tabs and collar, and represent several promotions. Matching wool light brown piped shoulder straps are sewn into the tunic. Each strap has a finely embroidered light brown "NS". The early droop tail eagle is correctly era hand-applied over the right upper pocket. The pocket flap on that pocket is sewn down. All eight of the tunic and pocket buttons have the same maker, and the two smaller shoulder board buttons are matching. An "Obergefreiter" rank chevron and signal trade patch are era hand-sewn to the left sleeve. CONDITION: Overall excellent. WEZ
