Classic Confederate cedar wood canteen. Soldier carved initials "J Mc" on one side and lightly scratched "JMM" on the other. CONDITION: Excellent. Nice tones to wood. Some rubbing against soldier's body on side with carved initials and tight vertical crack. Iron hoops in place. Bottom bracket in place. Upper brackets period replaced with iron wire. Spout in missing with wear to mouth. Slight chipping to 2 slats with missing brackets. Tight, with pleasing undisturbed surface. SBR
