Standard configuration R6007 SP1 manufactured by Colt. These R6007 rifles are among the rarest and most desirable SP1 variations in the collector market, with only 1000 examples estimated to have been produced in 1983 featuring the "Coltguard" electro-less nickel finish. The receiver, upper assembly, charging handle, barrel, front sight assembly / bayonet lug, and flash suppressor all feature the "Coltguard" electro-less nickel finish, with small components being blued. The left side of the receiver bears the Rampant Colt logo as well as stampings stipulating the manufacturer, model, caliber, and serial number. Top of barrel is stamped "C MP CHROME BORE". Features include a 20" chrome lined barrel, standard A1 pattern front and rear carry handle sights, as well as A1 pattern black polymer furniture. Butt trap contains several cleaning rod sections, cleaning rod tip, as well as several brush tips. Rifle is accompanied by a single Colt "5.56" marked magazine. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their original factory "Coltguard" electro-less nickel finish, exhibiting some scattered marks from handling and storage that show through to silvering, as well as a few minute areas of surface spotting. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined lands and grooves throughout. Polymer furniture shows some minor superficial handling and storage marks and is otherwise fine. Magazine shows wear to its gray finish, with the balance turning a mellow brown patina. An attractive example of one of the most desirable and scarce Colt SP1 rifle variations. MLW
