The Fight for the Colors by Don Troiani. The print depicts the fighting at the McPherson farm and the Railroad Cut during the Battle of Gettysburg on July 1, 1863. Charging forward from the left are med of the 6th Wisconsin Volunteers lead by Lieutenant Colonel Rufus Dawes as they approach the men of the 2nd Mississippi Regiment on the right. At the center of the frame is Corporal Francis A Waller as he struggles to strip the 2nd Mississippi's colors from bearer Sergeant W.B. Murphy. The figures in the print are wonderfully detailed from their facial expressions, down to each piece of gear they are wearing. The print is numbered in pencil "595/950" on the lower left corner and signed by Don Troiani in the lower right corner. CONDITION: The colors remain vibrant with no signs of fading. The print is wonderfully framed and ready to hang. Overall excellent. JLD
