This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 12/14/2021
Lot consists of 2 Confederate fixed-tongue frame buckles. These general service buckles are probably the type most widely worn by Confederate enlisted men from all branches of service. They were not fancy, but easy to make from sand molds and sturdy. (A) Mixed light green and brown patina, with slight bends to upper and lower frame and slight wave to center bar. Collector note with find location as a Georgia camp in Fairfax, Va. CONDITION: Very good. (B) Even aged brass patina with collector inventory number in black on white ground on reverse. Central bar is thin and rounded on reverse with teeth raised and beveled. CONDITION: Excellent. Light file marks visible on one corner flat.
Item Dimensions: 3" X 3"
