Lot contains: (A) Steel storage can for a Fallschirmjager RZ20 parachute. Most of these surviving cans in the US were found at a German Fallschirmjager training base in Dreux, France, and sent home by US veterans of the Normandy Campaign during the summer of 1944. Can is marked "Wetterfester Behalter f. Personnenfallschirm" which translates to "weather proof can for personnel parachute", and also has Luftwaffe model numbers and the maker/ date of "ebr44". Can retains 80-85% of it original ordnance tan paint with heavy freckling, scattered marks, etc. Both handles are functional, and while all four closure cleats are intact, one is cracked. CONDITION: Overall very good. (B) Canvas carrying bag for Fallschirmjager parachutes. Used to pack a parachute in the storage can and also carry the chute on the airfield. Bag exhibits light wear and damage throughout. CONDITION: Overall very good. WEZ
