Standard configuration LP.08 semi-automatic pistol manufactured by DWM in 1917 for the German military. Receiver bears "1917" over the chamber with arsenal proofs on the right hand side. Toggle bears the intertwined DWM monogram. Major metal components are rust blued, with some smaller components being strawed and nitre blued. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. All numbers are matching with the exception of the grips, which are unnumbered. Magazine bottom appears to have been restamped to match at one point in time. Pistol is accompanied by an unserialized flat board stock. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their arsenal reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some spots of wear and light thinning showing through to patina overall. Strawed components are very good, showing some light freckling in a few places. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Grips are very good, showing some light smoothing as well as a few nicks to the diamonds overall. Stock shows scattered handling marks, with evidence of aging to the leather and some spots of crazing. A very nice arsenal refurbished LP.08 pistol manufactured by DWM during the Great War. MLW
