1861 vintage Colt 1851 Navy percussion revolver, serial number 102682. 7 - 1/2" octagon barrel in .36 caliber with cone front sight, Colt New York barrel address, and hammer notch rear sight. Matching serial numbers observed on cylinder arbor, cylinder, frame, trigger guard, butt, wedge, barrel, and rammer. Cylinder is roll die engraved with typically seen cylinder scene depicting the Texas Navy's victory over the Mexican Navy in May of 1843. Color case hardened frame with silver-plated brass backstrap and trigger guard. 1-piece plain walnut grips. Accompanied by an original Colt green velvet lined case, a 2-sided angle spout, eagle and star Navy size flask, a blue steel "COLT'S PATENT" bullet and ball mold with sprue cutter, an L-shaped nipple wrench, a packet of combustible cartridges, a sealed tin if paper-wrapped blue label Eley's caps and case key. CONDITION: Excellent plus, with nearly all of the original bluing remaining on barrel assembly and cylinder with the exception of minor age-related handling and storage marks throughout. Cylinder scene is sharp and complete, as well as cylinder safety pins. Cylinder has light dragline. Frame and rammer retain bright original case colors. Walnut grips are in matching condition, retaining nearly all of their original finish, are well-fitting, and are not showing any signs of major distress such as cracking or gouging with minor handling marks present. Action is tight and crisp and indexes properly. Bore is bright and shiny with sharp rifling. Case and accessories are very good with handling marks throughout. An exceptional, New York made Colt 1851 Navy. TON
