Model 1885 Low Wall single shot rifle chambered in .22 Short manufactured by Winchester in 1889. The top of the barrel is stamped with Winchester's 2-line address, followed by "22 SHORT" towards the breech. Features include a blued 27 - 7/8" full length octagonal barrel, Marble No. 2 front sight, "U" notch rear sight, case color hardened frame, breechblock, hammer, lever, and buttplate, as well as a smooth walnut buttstock and low profile schnabel tip forearm. CONDITION: Barrel retains the vast majority of its reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some scattered handling marks, light areas of edge wear, and small spots of light oxidation overall. Rear sight bears spots of light oxidation overall. Frame retains vibrant reapplied case coloring, retaining a layer of lacquer over the finish and exhibiting areas of wear along the edges. Buttplate shows a few areas of pitting beneath the finish. Very bright bore, exhibiting well defined lands and grooves throughout. Stock is very good, as lightly sanded and refinished, being slightly shy to the frame and exhibiting few impressions and scattered handling marks overall.
