Under hammer percussion target rifle some of which were used as sniper's rifles in the Civil War. This rifle is very similar to rifles made by William Billingshurst of Rochester, New York circa 1850. 30 -1/4" octagon barrel with 6 land and groove gain twist rifling, false muzzle with sight shield and brass bullet starter with walnut handle. Barrel measures 1 -1/4" across muzzle flats and is fitted with an unmarked full length approximately 20X telescope. Deluxe walnut checkered buttstock with smooth steel buttplate. A neat gun. CONDITION: Overall good with some light discoloration on metal. Wood shows 90% remaining of a high lustre varnish with light scratches and dings. Excellent bore and mechanics. DLM
