Remington Beals 3rd Model single action revolver. Made 1859-60. Top of the barrel is marked "BEALS PATENT 1856 & 57.& 58./MANUFACTURED BY REMINGTONS' ILLION, N.Y.". Matching serials on the barrel, butt and both grips. Octagon barrel with blade front sight. Metal has a coat of reapplied finish, covering most areas. Checkered hard rubber grips. CONDITION: Metal retains 80% of its finish with general wear and some brown patina starting to form. Grips are have a few handling marks and scratches. Bore is frosted with good overall rifling. Hammer is tight. Cylinder has some light side-side wobble. Mechanically operable, but hammer tends to stick. JWA
