German front loading Zimmerstutzen parlor gun in 4mm. The serial number is "11588" and can be found on the barrel, butt plate, inside the forearm, the forearm takedown plug, and may be found elsewhere. Barrel is also marked "Gussstahl", "RJ", "4", "2463", "Crown/ G", and an Imperial German eagle. No import marks. Octagonal blued fluted matted barrel, with original front sight assembly with replaceable blade. Only the 6" of the barrel front is rifled for the 4mm cartridge. 11mm sight rail is present. Front spoon type loading assembly is present, intact, and appears to be functional. Original diopter sight assembly is mounted on the rear tang, is fully adjustable, and with a sight adjustment key attached. Receiver, trigger guard, tang, floor plate assembly, and butt plate have case hardening and engraving. Receiver engraving is in a floral pattern, butt plate has some silver inlay, and four areas of engraving have a rabbit, mouse, duck, and bird. Under the receiver is a panel with some gold trim, and the date of "1909" with other illegible script. High quality walnut stock has five tiny squares of inlaid Mother of Pearl pieces on the rear top, and six of the same on the bottom. Walnut firearm has a 1/2" Mother of Pearl inlaid as a star. Butt plate is in standard Schuetzen style. Slings swivels are mounted on the stock and barrel. CONDITION: Rifle is overall excellent and retains 85-90% of its original blued finish, and approximately 50% of its case hardening. Barrel exhibits scattered light freckling. Wood has very little noticeable wear/ damage. 2" of the metal wire trim on the right rear of the butt stock is exposed. Bore is bright, set triggers function properly, and rifle is mechanically sound. WEZ
