Pre-war German Vierling 4-barreled gun marked "O. GEYGER & CO BERLIN" on both barrel tops. Geyger was a retailer and sole agent in Berlin For J.P. Sauer and Oskar Merkel, both Suhl gunmakers. Gun has Krupp steel barrels with .22 Hornet rifle barrel above rare 20 gauge side by side shotgun barrels with a 7mm rimmed caliber rifle underneath (possibly 7x57R?). Barrels have raised matted rib, ramped blade front sight, rear matted quarter rib, and flip rear notch sight with extractor shell removal. Case hardened full sidelock full coverage vignette engraved action with "O. GEYGER & CO BERLIN" on both sidelocks. Gun has Greener style safety and unique Kersten style crossbolt, with cocking indicators, dual set triggers, horn trigger guard, and tang safety selector marked "SCHROT" and "KUGEL". European walnut checkered round knob pistol grip stock with ebony diamond inlay behind locks, added leather-faced recoil pad, and enhanced pistol grip area coming to a point on both sides of grip. Walnut checkered splinter forearm with Deeley release. As Vierlings go, you do not see 20 bores very often! CONDITION: 95% barrel blue with 50% fading case colors. Traces of original hand-rubbed finish with sharp checkering with wood possibly lightly cleaned. Stock probably cut for addition of recoil pad. Excellent bores and mechanics. A super Vierling in great condition. DLM
