Manufactured 1943. Serrated slope front sight, square notch flat top rear sight. "P" proof in front of rear sight. Left side of slide with "REMINGTON RAND INC. / SYRACUSE, N.Y. U.S.A." Nicely visible tempering visible towards muzzle and around slide release. Barrel stamped "HS" on right and "P" on left. "G" proof on top of frame. Left side of frame with "FJA" proof for Atwood; there is a very small "A" visible between the "J" and the "A". Right side with "UNITED STATES PROPERTY / NO. 1281627" behind slide stop and "M1911A1 U.S. ARMY" in front of slide stop. Small parts comprise narrow checkered hammer, serrated slide release, thick tab safety, long 1911A1 grip safety, checkered magazine release, short stamped checkered trigger, arched knurled mainspring housing with lanyard loop. Grips are Keyes fibre grips with matching "10" mold numbers. Magazine with "L" on baseplate lip for little. CONDITION: Excellent, retaining virtually all of the original parkerized finish with tempering still visible on slide as aforementioned, and burnishing visible in "P" proof, "FJA" proof, and crossed cannon cartouche. There are some minor handling marks including one on left side of slide that shows some silvering. Slide has some very minor brown spotting that does not detract. Some very light patination on dust cover and front of trigger guard. Light takedown mark. Some minor silvering at high edges. Grips are excellent with a few abraded heads. Mechanically fine, bore is excellent with crisp rifling. This is a really excellent example of a Remington Rand. EMW
