Swiss single shot rifle in .222 Remington made by "W. GLASER ARMS, ZURICH" with set triggers. Blued octagonal matte finished barrel has a full-length machine filed rib with stepped, ramped small bladed front sight. The barrel is marked with serial number of "663" and is marked "FLOYD S. ADAMS", who was the original owner and who commissioned the rifle. The rear sight is filed and not marked for distance. Barrel engraved "W. GLASER ARMS ZURICH" on left. Right marked "CAL. .222 REMINGTON". Rifle is built before import stamp requirements and no import marks are found. Two checkered EAW style claw mount bases hold the double claw scope rings attached to the scope. The scope is marked "Carl Zeiss, Jena", "Zielsechs", and "Nr. 68174". The 6-power fixed scope has the standard German three-point reticle. The Martini-style action is engraved with floral scroll and game scenes of deer in wooded vignettes. Trigger guard and floor plate are engraved with scrolls. European walnut stock and forearm with finely checkered pistol grip and foregrip are accompanied by the Bavarian style cheek piece, possible horn forend tip and decorative diamond and arrowhead inserts. Stock with a Schuetzen style butt plate. European style sling is attached to the sling swivels on the forearm and stock. CONDITION: Overall excellent. Barrel retains 90-95% of its blued finish and the receiver, trigger guard, and hooked butt plate are coin finished but exhibited ordinary wear with light freckling and staining. Removable Zeiss scope has clear optics and elevation adjustment functions. Set triggers function, but could use some adjusting. Bore is bright and rifle appears to be mechanically sound. WEZ/CP/JH
