Lot consists of (A) Miniature Kriegsmarine dagger with "Oberleutnant Gunther Prien" and "U-47" etched into the blade. Oberleutnant Prien was the commander of the submarine U-47 which sank the British Royal Navy battleship HMS Ark Royal on October 14, 1939. His submarine penetrated the Royal Navy's primary base at Scapa Flow. Prien was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross for that exploit. Blade has a nice cross grain look. Fittings and scabbard retain 95+% of their gold finish. Yellow trylon grips exhibits only light wear. CONDITION: Excellent plus. (B) Bronze hollow-back Panzer assault badge, unmarked, retaining 30-35% of it bronze finish on the obverse, and approximately 15% on the reverse. Barrel hinge, wire pin, and clasp are complete and functional. CONDITION: Overall very good. (C) Silver Panzer assault badge, unmarked, retaining 85-90% of its silver finish overall. Barrel hinge, wire pin and clasp are are complete and functional. CONDITION: Overall excellent. (D) Bronze hollow back Infantry assault badge, unmarked, and retaining 75-80% of its bronze finish. Barrel hinge, clasp, and wire pin are complete and functional. CONDITION: Overall excellent. (E) Kriegsmarine Minesweeper badge, retaining 45-50% of its its finish on the obverse, with an unfinished reverse. Barrel hinge, flat pin, clasp and upper wire clasp are complete and functional.
