German Walther "ac/43" code G.41(W) semi automatic rifle. Later production G.41(W) made 1943 at the Walther factory. This rifle was the more successful of the G.41 designs, the other being the more complicated G.41(M), made by Mauser. No import mark found on the rifle. Matching serials on all the visible numbered parts, including the stock, muzzle cone and front sight base. "(Eagle)/359" Waffenamts throughout, including 2 stamped on the left side of the butt stock. Standard hooded blade front sight with rear tangent adjustable to 1,200 meters. Factory blued finish on the metal components. Laminate wood stock has a light oil finish. Resin hand guard looks to be original as well. Cupped metal butt plate. Includes some consignor research. CONDITION: Metal retains 75% of its original finish with light wear. Rear sight base is starting to form a plum color. Wood has a few handling marks and scratches. There are two gouges on the left wrist and on the left side of the handguard. Bore is lightly frosted, but retains very good overall rifling. Seems mechanically fine. JWA
