Built circa 1888 this 12 guage boxlock with 28" sleeved nitro proof (1987) blued steel barrels are built with ejectors and 2 - 3/4" chambers. Barrel rib is built with doll's head rib extension third fastener, tapered concave game with a round small brass front bead sight. Rib reads "W.R. LEESON, ASHFORD, KEN. SIEMEN'S STEEL". Chokes are Improved Modified and Modified. The coin finished action with double triggers (front checkered) is scroll engraved with "W.R. LEESON" and "PATENT SCREW GRIP" in banner below on both sides of the action body. Blacked action bottom is also scroll engraved. Blacked top lever with checkered thumb piece is also scroll engraved with "PATENT" on lever towards breech. The safe slide is checkered and the word "SAFE" on tang ahead of slide. Gun is auto safe and features disc set strikers and intercepting sears. Triggers are protected by a blacked scroll engraved trigger guard with scrolls extending to a long bottom strap with scrolls and the guns serial number "754" engraved. The deep reddish-brown straight grain English walnut stock is furnished with two checkered panels, drop points, and an English straight hand grip. Buttstock also fit with vacant gold oval and close to fully covered checkered butt. Splinter forend with checkering and Anson styled release. Iron metal is engraved with scrolls and interior metals are blacked. CONDITION: Good. Barrels with approximately 85% blue left from sleeving. Some silvering at muzzle and handling marks are present. Action, ejectors, and triggers are sound and the barrels are tight. Stock with some handling marks. Forend with handling marks and some bruising to checkering. (CP)
