Officer's Model Target double action revolver chambered in .38 Special manufactured by Colt in 1930 and serialized in the Official Police serial number line. The left side of the barrel is stamped "*OFFICERS MODEL 38*", with Colt's 2 line address across the top. Left side of frame bears the Rampant Colt logo and "VP" proof. Features include a blue finish, 6" barrel, partridge front sight, target adjustable rear sight, as well as 2 piece ivory grips. Ivory grips bear a layer of epoxy on the interior of the panels, fitting them comfortably to the frame. Grip straps and trigger are checkered. Matching numbers are present on the frame and cylinder crane. CONDITION: Very good overall, with metal components retaining the vast majority of their original factory applied blue finish, exhibiting some light edge wear as well as light wear around the muzzle. There are some small spots of cleaned light pitting on the right side of the barrel, with the frame exhibiting a few spots of cleaned oxidation beneath the grip panels. Cylinder bears a light dragline. Mirror bore, exhibiting well defined lands and grooves throughout. Ivory grips exhibit a few superficial handling marks and light impressions, but are otherwise fine. An extremely attractive example of a Colt Officer's Model Target double action revolver. MLW
