Marlin Model 1893 lever action rifle made by the Marlin Firearms Company in 1893. We could not get a letter on this highly embellished gun. The action is gold-plated and fully engraved with scrolls in relief and a panel scene on the left side depicting a bull elk. There also is some scrollwork on the front grip cap, top of the buttplate, and the sides of the finger lever. It has a special order 30" tapered octagonal barrel with a tube magazine. Rocky Mountain front sight and Marlin Rocky Mountain Rear sight. The crescent buttplate, finger leaver, hammer, and front grip cap are all silver plated. It has a deluxe pistol grip rear stock with checkered panels at the wrist. The front stock has a wrap-around checkered panel. Both stocks are highly figured walnut. CONDITION: Gun shows just some slight storage and handling marks with a bit of blue loss at the muzzle of the barrel. Checkering on the stocks is sharp and crisp. One very small chip on the pistol grip. Bright and shiny bore with sharp lands and grooves. REW
