Savage Model 99 Deluxe lever action rifle with takedown feature made by Savage Arms Company, Utica, New York in 1911. Gun has blued Savage Proof Steel round rifled 22" barrel with pinned blade front sight and Savage adjustable notch rear sight with Lyman Tang peep sight. Interesting stipled finish rotary magazine action with brass counter, case hardened lever with latch safety, and blued edge borders, all of which appear to be factory. Checkered fancy grain walnut stock with Savage logo hard rubber buttplate. Checkered fancy walnut splinter-type forearm with takedown button and Schnabel tip. CONDITION: 90% barrel blue with some small handling marks. Action finish remains a dull grey stipled finish with 90% blue remaining on edges. 90% varnish with some light scratches and dings. Excellent bore with good mechanics. A nice early 99. DLM
