Marlin Model 1894 lever action rifle. Made 1902. Two line company address and patent dates on the top of the barrel. "MARLIN SAFETY" on the top of the frame. "MODEL/1894" on the top of the tang. Round, steel barrel with German silver blade front sight and buckhorn v-notch rear. Full length magazine tube. Metal components have their original blued finish, with the frame and lever being case colored. Wood has been lightly sanded and varnished at some point. Crescent metal butt plate. CONDITION: Metal retains 70% of its original finish with wear and handling marks. Case color on the frame is mostly gone. Wood has handling marks and scratches. Bore is bright with crisp rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
