3rd model carbine manufactured circa 1871 and later converted to .44 centerfire. 20" round barrel restamped with incorrect "HENRY's PATENT - OCT. 16, 1860/KING's PATENT - MARCH 29, 1866" address and marked with hand carved initials at the rear barrel band. Magazine tube ends just shy of muzzle. Barrel band front sight and simple v-notch replacement rear sight. Characteristic brass receiver with King's Improvement loading gate and saddle ring. Right of receiver crudely stamped "NEW_YORK./HENRY BRAND". 2 piece plain walnut stocks with iron barrel band and brass crescent rifle butt plate. CONDITION: Good. Receiver well worn exhibiting a pleasing mellow patina with marks throughout. An additional hole has been drilled through receiver at ejection port. Barrel has turned to silvery patina. Stocks show usage including impressions and finish loss. Missing barrel band screw. Dark but shootable bore. Action cycles correctly. BAS
