Lot consists of: (A) Model 1860 Cavalry Saber, which was one of the most heavily used edged weapons during the Civil War. The sword is marked "US / J.T. / 1860" on the obverse ricasso and "Made by / AMES MFG CO. / CHICOPEE" on the reverse ricasso. The sword consists of a slightly curved blade, brass guard, and a grooved, center-swelled wooden handle wrapped in leather which is tightly bound to the grip with brass wire that fits neatly in the grooves of the handle. CONDITION: The blade exhibits a dark gray patina with scattered pitting throughout. The tip has dulled and there are scattered chips along the edge of the blade. The guard exhibits a mustard patina and the leather grip exhibits cracking. Brass wire remains tight. Missing scabbard. Overall good. (B) Pattern 1853 Enfield bayonet with various markings on the blade and upper scabbard mount. CONDITION: The blade remains bright and the socket retains most of its original bluing. The brass scabbard mounts exhibit a mustard patina with scattered leather loss on the scabbard body. Overall good. (C) "US" marked socket bayonet. CONDITION: The bayonet exhibits a chocolate gray patina with pitting throughout its construction. Overall fair. JLD
