Winchester Model 1885 High Wall single shot rifle. Made 1906, this is considered a first Generation Winder Musket. Company trademark on the top of the tang. Two line company address and patent dates on the barrel, in front if the rear sight. Round, steel barrel with blade front sight and Krag 1901 pattern rear sight (correct for this rifle). Original blued finish wear to a brown patina in areas. Wood has a light oil finish. Smooth metal butt plate. CONDITION: Metal retains 60% of its original finish with general wear and some brown patina forming in areas. Stock has handling marks and scratches. Bore is frosted with good overall rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
