1910, FRANCE: Gasparini was a large organ maker in France in the early 20th century. Primarily a maker of street organs and marketing them mostly in the France, Belgium, and Holland markets. This instrument is very special, having begun its life in 1910. By the curved nature of the organ, one can see it was made for the center of a carousel. This was an early time for Gasparini, the organ retains almost all original pipes and componentry, operating on book scale and it has a very strong carousel tone and volume. It spent a good portion of the 20th century in France, before being restored by Kevin Meayer of England and ultimately acquired into this collection. The façade is restored in great colors, a restored street cart completes the look, and it is a great size. You need only to experience this organ in person to understand how different they can sound from aged original pipes. This is a great carousel organ and worthy of any collection. CONSIDERATIONS: Restored, some age cracks, but easily touched up. Playing beautifully and recently tuned. Comes with 56 tune books.
