1912, BELGUIM: From the Belgium factories of Theofiel Mortier came some of the most elegant organs the world has ever known. Some were in the form of temples, other resembled palaces, and others with a much simpler design, but all were triumphs of the woodcarvers art. This dance organ, aptly named "Bell Epoque" (beautiful time), was built around 1912. After WWII it was placed in an auto museum in France where it sat for many years. It was purchased into this collection from the museum and the façade was restored prior to Henri's passing, however the organ itself was not completed. This 84 key Mortier is very worthy of restoration and bringing it back to be enjoyed by future generations. Sometimes you come across a project that looks like a steep hill to climb, where the effort does not return a reward; not the case with Belle Epoque. By all accounts, there are enough great components to this amazing dance organ to bring it back to life. CONSIDERATIONS: Restored façade, some new parts at the top, and what appears to be a complete organ needing restoration. Includes 35 tune cards.
