1 of just 250 commemorative Model 1902 Cartridge Counter Lugers manufactured by Mauser in 1982, this example being number 246. Toggle bears a gold inlaid intertwined "DWM" monogram, with the left side frame wall exhibiting a gold inlaid "Mod. 1902/ Cartridge Counter". Right side of frame and receiver are stamped "C 246 von250". Left side of frame bears a horizontal "(Eagle)/N" nitro proof followed by the date code "IC" (82) and the Ulm proof house stamp. Top of barrel bears the caliber designation "9mm Parabellum", with the wood bottom magazine being marked "CAL 9m/m". Front grip strap bears stampings stipulating the manufacturer information and rear of frame is stamped "MADE IN GERMANY". Simpson Ltd. import stamp is present just ahead of the trigger guard. Major metal components are salt blued, with some smaller components being strawed. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips, with the left panel bearing a cartridge counter. Pistol is accompanied by an incorrect Original Mauser factory box and contains a takedown tool and cleaning rod. CONDITION: Metal components retain bountiful amounts of their original factory blue finish, virtually showing no signs of external wear, with strawed components being ensuite. Mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined rifling throughout. Grips are excellent. Magazine's wood buttom is split on 1 side. Box shows taped repairs overall but is otherwise sturdy and serviceable. A very fine and seldom encountered Mauser Model 1902 Cartridge Counter commemorative Luger.
