German Mauser "byf" code P.08 Luger semi-automatic pistol with holster. "41" on the chamber and "byf" on the toggle. There is a "Ku" suffix on the left side serial number. This typically means the gun was assembled in 1942-43, by a contractor, and issued to the Luftwaffe. Only about 5,000 are thought to be produced in this fashion. No import marks found. Matching serials throughout. Bolt, magazine hold open, and barrel are not numbered but the barrel is marked "S/42" on the underside. Acceptance proofs are consistent with typical "Ku" proofed guns. Standard blade front sight and V-notch rear. Factory blued finish on the metal components. Original wood grips being numbered "1430" on each panel. "fxo" marked blued steel magazine with a Bakelite bottom and "(Eagle) / 37" proofs. Includes a "dla/41" marked black leather holster with an "(Eagle) / WaA195" waffenamt and "P.08" on the back. CONDITION: Metal retains 85% of its original finish with general wear. Grips have crisp and sharp checkering. Clean bore overall with strong rifling. Mechanically fine. Magazine has light wear. Holster has wear and some crazing on the shell. Stitching remains tight. JWA
