German World War II 2nd Pattern Pith Helmet with SS shields. The helmet is produced of a dark green felt, which exhibits minimal wear and patina throughout. 2 zinc based shields are attached to each side of helmet, 1 being the SS runes, and the other the typical NSDAP party shield seen on SS combat helmets. The shields are made of zinc, and retain most of their original factory paint. We do not know is they are correctly maker marked on the reverse with “JFS42” & “JFS43”. The leather chinstrap is present over the helmets brim, and appears to have no damage. The helmets interior exhibits no wear, as it is most likely unissued. Leather sweatband is present, as well as all liner clips. Sweatband is maker marked with a “W” in a shield. CONDITION: Near mint. DMW
