Imperial German Württemberg Cased First Class Order of the Crown produced of enameled brass. The cross is in unissued condition and reflects this in appearance. The lower arm has some slight enamel cracking. The high quality gilding remains intact. The reverse of the cross retains its hinge, pin, and “C” catch with no repairs. Light patina to the reverse. No maker mark can be found. The case is a simple red leatherette covered box which has no embossed writing on the lid, only a gold border. Light scuffing can be seen on the box’s exterior throughout. The interior of the box is lined with artificial silk on the upper lid, and black crushed velvet pad. CONDITION: Excellent. PROVENANCE: Lt. Robert A. Bonner Collection. DMW
