Savage Model 1895 lever action rifle made for Savage Arms Company by J.M. Marlin Company between 1895 and 1899. Blued 26" octagon barrel with sheared front sight and rear adjustable buckhorn sight, marked with "Savage Repeating Arms Co." logo. Blued action with brass counter and inspection hole bolt, lever safety, and casehardened lever. Walnut plain stock with steel crescent buttplate and matching plain walnut forearm. Comes with factory letter stating shipment to California in 1898. CONDITION: 90% fading barrel blue with some splotchy areas and handling marks. Action worn to a silvery patina with lever showing some traces of case color. Wood has traces of original varnish with usage dings and nicks. Good bore and mechanics. A nice honest worn gun. DLM
