German World War II Luftwaffe Glider Pilot Badge produced by the manufacturer “BSW”. The badge is made of nickel silver, with most of the silver electroplating on the wreath and dark burnishing on the eagle having worn down over time. The badge is made of 2 piece construction being held together by 2 brass rivets on the reverse. Small cracks can be seen on the wreath’s reverse side next to the rivets from the pressure created when they were crimped in place. These cracks are common to see on these Glider Pilots produced by BSW. The hinge, pin, and catch are intact and function, however the catch has been bent backwards. The badge is unmarked.
