1 of 30,000 Model 1861 percussion rifled muskets contracted to E. Robinson, New York between 1863 -1865. 40" round rifled barrel in .58 caliber with 3 iron barrel bands, iron nose cap, pinned front sight, and rear replaced notch sight (missing original). Barrel dated 1863 and marked with "V P / (Eagle)" and cleanout lock bolster. Percussion lock marked with "(Eagle) / U.S.", "E. ROBINSON / NEW YORK", and dated 1863. Walnut full military stock with iron hardware and correct steel ramrod. PROVENANCE: Rich Guckes Collection. CONDITION: Metal has turned to a plum patina with some slight corrosion. Wood has dark patina with no visible signs of restoration. Dark pitted bore with good mechanics. DLM
