Bren display light machine gun assembled from surplus parts and components on a dummy receiver. Right side of receiver is stamped "BREN MKI" followed by "IMA/1942". External components show various British proofs and serial numbers with the barrel being stamped "MKI*". Barrel's breech has been shaved down and does not appear to be serviceable. Carry handle and bipod are present. CONDITION: Metal components retain the majority of their reapplied finish, exhibiting some wear overall as well as some spots of light oxidation. Bore is bright, exhibiting well defined rifling throughout. Wood furniture shows some scattered dings and handling marks, but is otherwise sturdy and serviceable. 1 clip on the sling strap is broken, but can be easily replaced. A nice example of a Bren Mk I light machine gun that would make for a nice display piece. MLW
