Manufactured in 1851. Blued .36 caliber 7 - 1/2" octagon barrel with New York address, modified blade front sight, rear hammer notch sight, 6 shot percussion cylinder roll marked with naval engagement scene, brass grip straps, and smooth walnut 1-piece grips. CONDITION: Very good. Traces of original blued finish are retained in protected areas with balance a pleasing brown gray patina. Cylinder scene is still largely visible. Grips straps have been cleaned to a bright finish. The grips themselves are good, having been lightly sanded with a few impressions still visible. Dark but shootable bore and fine mechanics. Matching serial numbers observed on frame, barrel assembly, loading lever, trigger guard, rear grip strap, and cylinder. Loading lever appears renumbered. Wedge unnumbered. PROVENANCE: Ex.
