DSP. Sign is Maker Marked Ingram Richardson, Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania. A fair example of this early Porcelain Flange Sign for Supreme Auto Oil, a product of Gulf Refining. CONDITION: Side one shows very good color and gloss in the orange and white porcelain with areas of cloudiness and discoloration in the black porcelain. Side one shows no chipping in the field but does show some minor areas of surface scratching and staining with minor chipping along the outer edge but overall very clean, Grade 8.0. Side two shows moderate to heavy areas of wear and discoloration throughout the field as well as loss of gloss. Side two shows minor chipping along the outer edge and although worn all of the lettering is legible and side two displays well. The flange portion of the sign is in good condition showing only minor chipping at the mounting holes and although worn the piece displays nicely and is a nice early example of Gulf Refining Advertising. .
