Circa 1966. An early Mauser bolt action magazine rifle by one of the most revered manufacturers in the world. This classic and beautiful rifle is built with a 23" barrel and is fit with an early Swarovski-Optik Tirol Habicht 6 scope which is mounted by a claw mount system. Action is a Mauser double square bridge and chambered for 7x64mm. Barrel is fit with a rear island sight with 1 standing leaf (leaf with platinum marker), ramped front blade sight and a sweated on loop for sling at bottom. Barrel reads "Hartmann & Weiss, Hamburg Kul 7x64", with German proof mark and rifle serial number "0011". Case colored action with thumb notch cut out, butter knife style handle, safe slide, and flag safe. Beautiful case colors and floral scroll are outlined with decorative gold wire. Floorplate and trigger guard are handsomely floral scroll engraved and also with gold line accents. Rifle is fit with double set triggers. The beautiful Turkish walnut stock is built with a Monte Carlo stock and cheekpiece, slender fine checkered pistol grip, grip with ebony cap, loop for sling and 1/2" leather recoil pad. Forend with matched checkering and ebony tip matching grip cap. Rifle lives in an oak and leather makers case with "Hartmann & Weiss" trade label, Damascus knife, golden plated cleaning accessories and leather sling. CONDITION: Very good. Barrel retains mostly all of its black with light markings from storage. Action and trigger(s) are smooth and crisp. Scope is clear. Stock is good with small indication of separation alongside top left near safe slide. Stock and forend with only slight marks from storage handling. Case good with storage marks. Nice rifle! CP
