Gold filled presentation cane with gold quartz. C. 1870. Gold quartz comes from the gold rush of the 1860’s in California. The shaft is snakewood, which is one of the rarest, most expensive woods in the world and will sink in water. The ferrule is nickel plated brass over steel.
