Showcasing the pinnacle of Swiss firearms quality and manufacturing, the SIG MKPS was designed with the intention of increasing the overall firepower of the standard infantryman. Due to lackluster sales, the MKPS and its variants were only produced between 1933-1941, with only approximately 1,200 examples being manufactured. This example is stamped "Societe Jndustrelle Suisse/ Neuhasusen" on the top of the receiver, with some indiscernible stampings present on the left side followed by the selector switch markings "F" and "S", as well as the serial number. Features include a blue finish, 11 - 1/2" barrel, blade front sight, adjustable rear sight with graduations from 100-1000 meters, under-folding magazine, as well as a solid hardwood stock & upper handguard. Matching numbers are present on the receiver, receiver end cap, trigger, safety bar, barrel, trigger guard, magazine well, magazine dust cover, bolt, buttstock, buttplate, upper handguard, upper handguard screw lug, as well as the trigger guard screws. Charging handle and magazine do not match. NFA Registry lists the manufacturer block as "Swiss" with "MPKO" in the model block. Model designation can be requested to be corrected upon time of transfer. PROVENANCE: From the collection of esteemed NFA firearms enthusiast and collector J. R. Moody. CONDITION: Very fine, with metal components retaining bountiful amounts of their professional period reapplied blue finish, exhibiting some spots of light wear and small areas of light thinning that show through to a pleasing brown patina. Mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined lands and grooves throughout. Wood furniture shows some scattered handling marks and minor impressions from storage and handling but is otherwise fine. A very fine example of an extremely high-quality Swiss SIG MKPS submachine. THIS IS A NATIONAL FIREARMS ACT ITEM AND REQUIRES BATF APPROVAL PRIOR TO TRANSFER. THIS ITEM IS FULLY TRANSFERABLE ON AN ATF FORM 3 OR 4 AS CURIO AND RELIC ELIGIBLE. MLW
