M16A1 manufactured by Colt. The left side of the receiver is stamped with the encircled Rampant Colt logo above "COLT/ M16A1/ CAL. 5.56MM." over the serial number, with Colt's manufacturer information above the trigger area. Selector is marked "SAFE", "SEMI", and "AUTO". Top of barrel is stamped "C MP CB" towards the muzzle. Features include an 11 - 1/2" barrel, birdcage flash suppressor, ribbed carbine handguards, standard M16 pattern front and rear iron sights, carry handle currently equipped with a Trijicon ACOG 2x20 optic, polymer pistol grip and telescoping buttstock, as well as a contemporary "U.S" over a flaming ordnance bomb marked rubber recoil pad. Lower handguard is mounted with a 2 - 1/4" picatinny rail. PROVENANCE: From the collection of esteemed NFA firearms enthusiast and collector J. R. Moody. CONDITION: Excellent, with metal components retaining virtually all of their original factory-applied finish, exhibiting a few minor superficial markings overall from handling and storage. Mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined rifling throughout. Polymer furniture is excellent, showing few indications of extensive handling or use. Trijicon ACOG optic is excellent.
