C96 manufactured by Mauser for commercial sales. Top chamber flat bears Mauser's manufacturer information, with the left flat bearing the serial number. Left side of receiver and top of charging handle bear Mauser "(Crown) / U" commercial proofs. Metal components have been nickeled at one point in time, with the frame being mounted with 2-piece serrated wood grips. Floorplate is blued. All numbers are matching, including the grips. Pistol is accompanied by a contemporary shoulder stock with spurious "OBER ST. KLUK. LUFT. DIENS, T8." markings. CONDITION: Metal components retain the vast majority of their applied nickel finish, exhibiting oxidation beneath the finish overall, as well as a few minor spots of flaking. Bore is bright as refinished, exhibiting oxidation and good rifling throughout. Grips are very good, showing some smoothing and scattered handling marks overall. Contemporary stock is excellent. MLW
