MG-34 semi-automatic rifle manufactured by TNW from surplus components on a new semi-automatic receiver. Right side of receiver bears an encircled "TNW" logo followed by stampings stipulating the model and manufacturer information. Barrel shroud is stamped "dot/ 1944", indicating manufacture by Waffenwerke Brunn. Receiver cover has been scrubbed and restamped with new waffenamts and a new serial number, with the barrel shroud's serial number having been scrubbed and restamped to match. Scarce variation bakelite buttstock exhibits steel-tipped reinforcements, with an unusual brass band present at the forward end. Shroud is mounted with a proper MG-34 pattern bipod. Metal components are blued, with the receiver being mounted with 2-piece serrated black plastic grips. Receiver cover latch is phosphate finished. CONDITION: Excellent, with metal components retaining bountiful amounts of their reapplied blue finish, exhibiting few minor superficial handling marks overall. Bore is bright, exhibiting dark oxidation within the grooves and exhibiting well-defined lands throughout. Reinforced bakelite stock shows some scattered marks from handling and storage, but is otherwise very good. Steel tipped reinforcements show some light surface oxidation and some age-related discoloration but are otherwise fine. A fine example of a TNW manufactured semi-automatic MG-34 rifle with a scarce and unusual reinforced buttstock. MLW
