Rare Kentucky side by side percussion double rifle with traits and similarities to rifles made by Samuel Smith of Barree Township, Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania circa 1850. 26" rifled .36 caliber octagon barrels with rifle sights and hook breech. Twin back action commercial percussion locks with double set trigger control. Curly maple full stock with brass hardware including a 4 piece engraved patchbox with spearpoint finial and heart piercing. CONDITION: Overall fair condition with metal turning a brown patina with some light surface corrosion. Stock retains most of original dark piano finish. Brass has been cleaned with wood having usage dings and marks. Pitted bores with sticky mechanics. DLM
