A monumental music box by Mermod featuring 15 of 16 cylinders, 14 of 16 tune sheets, 20" cylinders, 3 - 1/4" diameter, playing 6 tunes per cylinder with 21 minutes wind time. A beautiful music box with a storage table as well as a storage drawer in the cabinet. Last patent date of 1890 and serial number 51881. Condition shows a wonderful ebony and burl cabinet with matched grain lid, original hardware, and signs of very little wear. Light scuffs and minimal scratches to the surface from handling. A magnificent instrument with great sound and lots of curb appeal.
