Single Action Army Frontier Six Shooter manufactured by Colt in 1903, subsequently being custom engraved and restored. The top of the barrel bears Colt's 2-line address, with "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" on the left. Left side of frame bears patent information followed by the encircled Rampant Colt logo. Frame retains a case colored finish, with the barrel, grip straps, and trigger guard being blued. Frame is mounted with 2-piece stag handle grips. Frame exhibits pleasingly executed scroll engraving on a punch dot background that is housed within a light line border on either side, with additional bordered scroll work present on the top strap. Barrel and ejector rod housing are partially engraved, featuring scroll engraving en suite with the frame. Cylinder shows a scroll and floral motifs between the flutes, with a band of scroll on a punch dot background at the rear. Rear grip strap features nearly symmetrical floral motifs, terminating at the center of the grip strap, with an additional floral motif on the butt. Bottom of trigger guard exhibits a motif reminiscent of the backstrap, with light scroll engraving around the front trigger guard screw. CONDITION: Metal components retain bountiful amounts of their reapplied finish overall, exhibiting few minute indications of wear or extensive handling overall. Frame retains vibrant case coloring overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting good rifling throughout. Grips are excellent, showing few minor marks from handling and storage overall. An extremely attractive example of an expertly restored and engraved Colt Single Action Army Frontier Six Shooter revolver. MLW
