First model carbine configuration with 24" barrel chambered in .45-70. Blade front sight and military rear sight graduated to 1000 yards. Receiver marked on right side in 3 lines with address and patent information. 1-piece dark oil finished walnut stock mounted with a "U" marked barrel band, saddle ring, magazine cut-off, 1-piece trigger guard, and carbine style butt plate. A faint painted "15" rack mark is present on the right side of the stock. CONDITION: Very good. Metal components have turned a largely gray/brown patina. Butt plate has darker patina with some oxidation. Stock has some impressions throughout, with a few larger nicks and a crack at the magazine cut-off. Shootable bore showing strong rifling and some light pitting. Mechanically fine. BAS
