Manufactured from 1863 to 1875, the majority going to Civil War military contracts. Standard configuration with various inspector marks throughout. 8" .44 caliber octagon barrel marked on top flat with 2 line address. Blade front sight and frame notch rear. 6-shot non fluted cylinder. Fit with plain 2-piece walnut grips marked on left panel with an illegible cartouche. CONDITION: Very good. Traces of original blued finish retained on loading lever, with balance of the revolver exhibiting a brown patina. Trigger guard displays a mellowing patina. Grips have impressions and wear in line with military service. Fine bright bore showing strong rifling. Indexes correctly with tight lockup. Cylinder does not match and was likely swapped in the field, showing consistent condition. An honest revolver that likely saw service in the Civil War. BAS
