Made 1922 at the Enfield factory, as an intended replacement for the No.1 MK III. Broad arrow cartouches on the right side of the butt, in addition to a "10-42/123" marked in a circle. No import marks found. Matching serials on the receiver, forestock, and stock socket. Bolt does not match, nor does the magazine (later production). Blade front sight with rear ladder adjustable to 1400 meters. Magazine cut off is retained. Military blued finish and oiled wood stock. CONDITION: Metal retains 70% of its original finish with general wear and some gray patina forming. Wood has dings, scratches and dents. Bore is lightly frosted in the grooves, but retains strong rifling. Mechanically fine. JWA
